Circle of Istaria
Give us a brief description of your guild and why you chose the name you did.
Our guild, Circle of Istaria, is a federation of all the races found in Horizon, hence CIRCLE of Istaria. We are a neutral guild, but we do accept RP people if they wish to become evil or good.
What is the main focus of your guild?
The focus of our guild is simple, to be a fully functional guild that provides GUILD benefits. This means organization, and group hunting, questing, and trading.
How long has your Guild been around?
We have been around since June 1rst, 2003.
How was your guild founded and who are some of the founding members?
It was founded by myself, Isnal. I simply made a website, advertised, found some senior players, and spread the word.
What kind of structure does your guild have in terms of leadership and roles they play?
Our guild is not strictly run, although we do have a cast. We will use the guild ranking system in Horizons, but again, we are not the third-rike and will not be extremely focused on rank like some other guilds.
What resources do you provide to enhance interaction between members of your guild?
We provide a forum, website, and 3 full time help people.
What are some benefits to being in your guild?
The same benefits of being in any well run guild. A forum for friends, online friendship which means partners to hunt with, trade with, and quest with. And of course guild events. Unfortunatley, we can not give out money to persuade people to join, so that is not a benefit :)
What single moment in your guilds time, have you found the most memorable?
One of our guildies on the forum said... "Is it chicken or tuna...the can says Chicken Of The Sea"
What event has changed ‘you’ the most, since you have been in the guild?
#8 :) hehe
Does your guild have or will your guild have planned gatherings, and if so, how often? (In game and/or Real Life)
Yes we will have guild events, it will be posted on the forum calendar. Unfortunatley we will not have RL meetings.
In a short paragraph, tell us why someone should join your guild.
As stated before, some one in search of a guild should join us because we are organized, laid back, we have a good sense of humour, and you get all the great perks of being in a guild like friendship, and people to trade/quest with. Plus we have a great website and a fully functional forum
If someone is interested in joining your guild, what application process (if any) must they go through?
They need to go to the website and follow the sign up instructions. They have to email me or two other officers and answer the following questions. They will soon be responded to with an acceptance or declination email.
What games has your guild been a part of to date?
Asherons call 2.
What attracted you to Horizons and where to see your guild in the world when Horizons starts?
I was attracted to Horizons well...because it's Horizons!!! Plus, can anyone else out their in cyber-land name a half decent MMORPG out right now? And as far as servers, we don't know the names, so I can't tell you where I see our guild.
Have you ever been a Leader of a Guild before? What MMO and what was the size of the Guild at peak?
Yes, I was leader of an Asherons Call guild, it peaked at 300.
Tell us a little about your gaming experience and role as ‘guild master’
I have played EVERY MMORPG out there, and trust me, EVERY MMORPG. As guild master, all I will do is simply organize things, and try and keep the guild together.
As a ‘guild master’, tell what is the hardest set back you’ve had to deal with and how you handled the situation. (Which MMO was it and what was the out come?)
The best part of being a guild master is having every one know your name and position. But it has ALOT of downsides. It is MUCH easier to be just a member then a guild leader! You have to put up with constant bickering, arguments, and threatnings of guild splits. This was in Asherons Call, when 2 of my officers threatened to take away their branch of vassals. I simply convinced them it was the wrong move and had them stay.
What would you like your guild’s role in Horizons to be?
I would just like our Guild to be a recognizable, yet managble in size guild that people are familiar and friendly with.
Where you do see your guild a year into the game?
I see us having a small (50 players) elite group of players that have a great sense of humor and enjoy to play and stay active.
Any other details about your guild that you would like people to know?
I have stated just about everything :)
