Triangle of Sengeren
Give us a brief description of your guild and why you chose the name you did.
The Triangle of Sengeren is an organization for people who want to be known. We strive for perfection, becoming as strong as we can be. Our guild wishes to dominate Istaria by having the best of the best. The Triangle of Sengeren’s title was chosen to represent the three people who lead the guild and Sengeren is translated to Lords.
What is the main focus of your guild?
Simply put, our focus is becoming the best of the best. We wish to have a good time all around, but also to become powerful and respected.
How long has your Guild been around?
We were basically established on the twentieth of July in 2003.
How was your guild founded and who are some of the founding members?
Our guild was founded by three friends with similar goals finding Istaria and deciding they wanted to make a mark on the world. Jharviss, Eleria, and Senius are the founding members.
What kind of structure does your guild have in terms of leadership and roles they play?
There are three classes, each of which is led by three people. The lowest class is made up of the squires, who are led by three Prestige Squires. The middle class is made up of the knights, who are led by three Prestige Knights. Finally, the highest class is made up of the senger, who are led by three Prestige Senger. The Triangle leads the guild as a whole, which is made up of the True Senger, the leader of the guild and the two Master Senger, the co-leaders.
What resources do you provide to enhance interaction between members of your guild?
Our guild is trying to create many options that makes the guild a better constructed community. One thing we are trying to establish is a system that makes it so that “you get as much as you give.” We call this the favor system, which follows a basic system. If one person does something for another, then the other person would owe the other a favor. A favor can be returned in any way. It’s a simple system, but with it a person does not end up doing a lot for the guild and then feel that nothing has been given to them in return. At least, that is the goal of the system.
What are some benefits to being in your guild?
Beyond companionship and help, we offer some services. Perhaps the most popular, is the house building loans. With the guild bank, we will pay for most and help build a members residence. Over the course of several weeks, most of the loan will need to be paid back. Almost all members will be part-time if not fulltime crafters, and because of this we will be giving discounts on items within the guild. We will likely end up having many contests and fun events as well, just to keep the guild light hearted.
What single moment in your guilds time, have you found the most memorable?
Personally, due to not being within beta and therefore being excluded from most guild times, I have not had many memorable moments. For me, the most memorable moment was when I was arguing among the triangle about the hierarchy. Since then, our hierarchy has been remodeled three times. Due to my lack of memorable moments, I asked the person I elected as leader of the guild during the beta period. Her most memorable moment would be when one of our members gave ore to her for three levels of smith so that he could obtain his fine bronze longsword, Capricorn.
What event has changed ‘you’ the most, since you have been in the guild?
I would imagine I have become a little less self-reliant, and more reliant on the judgment of the guild.
Does your guild have or will your guild have planned gatherings, and if so, how often? (In game and/or Real Life)
We will likely have planned gatherings, but they will likely be sporadic. We plan on claiming our own area within Istaria, so we will likely be within reach of each other often. Beyond that, we will likely have often gatherings just for fun.
In a short paragraph, tell us why someone should join your guild.
Our guild would be a help to anybody, and is designed to benefit everyone. Ultimately, we will do whatever we can to help our members become stronger and have fun. Rather, the question should be, why wouldn’t somebody join our guild.
If someone is interested in joining your guild, what application process (if any) must they go through?
Really, there is not any application process. By going to our site and e-mailing me, they will likely be allowed to join as a trial member. Of course, if they are not generally liked they will not be allowed to stay in the guild, but otherwise nothing is required to join the Triangle.
What games has your guild been a part of to date?
We were created to be solely Horizons based, and we have no plans on taking part in any other games.
What attracted you to Horizons and where to see your guild in the world when Horizons starts?
Horizons is exactly what many of us have looked for in a game, with the ability to make our mark on the world. We are unsure where our guild will be within Horizon, but wherever it is we plan on dominating our area.
Have you ever been a Leader of a Guild before? What MMO and what was the size of the Guild at peak?
I have been the leader of two guilds in Everquest. The first of which had about forty active members at its peak and the second had about twenty during the short period it was under my command.
Tell us a little about your gaming experience and role as ‘guild master’.
Well, as far as gaming experience goes, I played Everquest for about four years, and have played many other offline games. As a ‘guild master,’ my role is to lead, of course. I will be mediator, above all. I will judge the decisions of others, but ultimately I plan on letting the guild make decisions on their own. I want this to be more democratic then monarchic, where the guild will make more decisions then the leader.
As a ‘guild master’, tell what is the hardest set back you’ve had to deal with and how you handled the situation. (Which MMO was it and what was the out come?)
Ultimately, I would say that in Everquest, when I left my guild for a short vacation, I came back and found that most of the members had left the guild. Needless to say, I was irritated, but by this I learned that the guild needed a strong secondary leader during the time when I was away, and likewise I found out who was really dedicated to the guild. Setbacks have never bothered me, just another bump on a bumpy road.
What would you like your guild’s role in Horizons to be?
The Triangle wishes to become excellent crafters, and become famous. We will make our own area, which will be open only to ourselves and our allies. Overall, we wish to become as well known and as important as possible.
Where you do see your guild a year into the game?
Within a year, I expect our guild will be very well settled into a strong routine, with a strong gathering of members and getting a good grasp on our world and crafts. Of course, I could be very bad with time and this could all happen within the first month or two of gaming, so ultimately our guild could be at any level within a year.
